While sharing a picture of hers being burnt by extremist Hindu mob, she wrote that she can’t imagine living in India.

She went on to say that a 23-year old year old labor rights activist Nodeep Kaur was arrested, tortured & sexually assaulted in police custody.

Meena added that “the issue isn't just about agricultural policy but it's also about the persecution of a vocal religious minority”.

While terming the situation in India as police violence, militant nationalism, and attacks on labor rights, she added, “Don't tell me to stay out of your affairs”.

Meena had shared a photo by Reuters journalist Danish Siddiqui and wrote, "I spoke out in support of human rights for Indian farmers, and look at the response.”

The 36-year-old said in another tweet that she won't be intimidated, and she won't be silenced.

On February 03, Meena Harris and some international celebrities came out in support of the farmers, who are protesting against the newly passed agricultural laws which they think will lead to commercialization of agriculture, making farmers extremely vulnerable to corporate greed.

Her tweet came after pop sensation Rihanna shared a news article about the farmers’ protests against the recently passed agriculture reforms.
