ATC grants seven-day physical remand of nine-suspects including Amina Urooj in Honey Trap case
Playwright Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar visits jail for identification parade of the suspects involved in the case
Lahore: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Wednesday approved a seven-day physical remand for Amina Urooj and eight other suspects in honey trap case of renowned Playwright Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar.
ATC Judge Khalid Arshad passed the order as it accepted the police’ request for physical remand of the suspects for investigation in the case.
During the hearing, the investigating officer informed the court that Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar had participated in the identification parade but was unable to identify Maryam Shehzadi and Shumail. Consequently, the court discharged Maryam Shehzadi, the younger sister of Amina Urooj, from the case.
The police requested a physical remand of the suspects for further investigation. After considering the arguments, the court granted a seven-day physical remand for the nine suspects, including Amina Urooj.
A few days ago, Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar visited Amina Urooj at around 4:40 AM in Bahria Town, where he was allegedly trapped for money. The playwright claimed he was subjected to violence and humiliation and that the suspects also took money from him. He was later released by his abductors.
Qamar later filed a complaint with Sundar Police Station against the suspects including Hassan Shah and Amina Urooj.
The police arrested all individuals involved in the case since then.
