German tourist robbed, thrashed in Lahore

Lahore: A German tourist was robbed near Allama Iqbal International Airport in the provincial capital, the police said on Saturday.

The victim was identified as 27-year-old Berg Florian, was touring Lahore on his bicycle.

According to the police, the German tourist was camping in the surroundings of airport when two armed men rounded him , thrashed him and took away his mobile phone, cash and a camera of worth thousands of rupees.

Berg Florian, according to the witnesses, fell unconscious just in front of Pakistan Rangers office. The people present there immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital for medical care.

The tourist claimed that he informed the Dolphin Force patrolling in that area but they demanded money instead of taking action. The victim lodged a complaint against the incident with North Cantonment police station.

The police booked two unknown suspects involved in robbing the German citizen and torturing him. The North Cantonment area police reached the spot and used the CCTV cameras and other available sources to trace the suspects.

The police authorities also formed a team under a DSP of the concerned area. SP Cantt area Owais Shafique said, “ the suspects will be arrested and will be brought to justice soon,”.

According to the German tourist, he was resting at a local park nearby Guldasht Town when two men came to him and took way his iPhone and many other belongings during the robbery.

German tourist said that the robbers looted camera worth $2,000 [ ], AirPods valued at $3,000 [ ], an iPhone estimated at $500 [], Rs5,000 local currency and a power bank.

In a video that was received to the media outlets, Berg Florian was seen sobbing while tears were rolling down on his cheeks. The police official, who was present there with the German, assured him full cooperation.
