Javelin ace says he will start training for the LA Games soon

Lahore: After making history at the Paris Olympics by winning Pakistan’s first gold medal in 40 years, javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem is already focused on the next challenge: the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Arshad's impressive 92.97-meter throw not only won him the gold but also set a new Olympic record, marking a major milestone in Pakistan’s athletic history.
The 27-year-old athlete received a warm welcome when he arrived at Lahore airport late Saturday night. The celebrations continued in his hometown, Mian Channu, where even more people gathered to honor him on Sunday.
Now recognized as a national hero, Arshad is set to receive Rs153 million in cash prizes and will be awarded the Hilal-i-Imtiaz for his record-breaking performance.
In a recent interview, Arshad shared that he is already thinking ahead to the next Olympics. "I'll start training for the LA Games soon," he said, adding that he hopes to stay fit and healthy to compete not only in 2028 but also in 2032.
Reflecting on his gold medal win, Arshad joked, "It feels like we’ve started celebrating Independence Day a bit early this year."
