Adiala Jail Deputy Superintendent detained over allegations of facilitating Imran Khan
Sources say Muhammad Akram was detained on the basis of charges of overstepping his authority and secretly conveying messages for the PTI leader


Islamabad: The security agencies took Muhammad Akram, the Deputy Superintendent of Adiala Jail, into custody amid allegations of facilitating the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, the sources close to the development said on Wednesday.
The sources said that Muhammad Akram was detained on the basis of charges of overstepping his authority and secretly conveying messages for the PTI leader.
The security agencies are currently conducting investigations into the matter.
The Inspector General of Punjab Prisons has been informed about the situation, and it is expected that departmental action would be initiated against Akram following the completion of the investigation.
It may be mentioned here that Muhammad Akram had already been removed from his position as Deputy Superintendent prior to his detention.
Imran Khan, the founder of PTI, is currently serving time in Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi, and the incident has sparked significant attention due to the high-profile nature of the case.
