Punjab government will bear total cost of treatment of police constable injured during bandits’ attack in Kacha area

Lahore: A police constable who got seriously injured in bandits attack in Kacha area was shifted to a hospital in the provincial capital on Sunday.
Constable was identified as Bilal who had been serving Punjab police in Rahim Yar Khan.
He had received bullets injuries in the bandits' attack in Kacha area, and as a result, his spinal cord and nervous system got affected. After being injured, he was shifted to Sheikh Zayed Hospital for treatment but the doctors decided to refer to a good medical facility in Lahore.
The sources said that the constable was shifted to General Hospital where he would undergo treatment for his nervous system as well as the spinal cord injury.
The development took place a day after Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz paid a visit to Sheikh Zayed Hospital in Rahim Yar Khan and inquired after the policemen who fell injured during the bandits’ attack.
The CM had directed the relevant authorities to provide quality treatment to the brave constables and address the concerns of their families.
“I laud these constables for their bravery and love for the motherland,” said the Punjab Chief Minister during her visit. She said, “We will bring the culprits involved in criminal activities to justice,”.
“These constables are our heroes and we will continue to support until their full recovery,” she added.
The sources said that Punjab government would bear all expenses for the treatment of the constable while senior neuro surgeons would carry out the treatment and medical procedure.
As many as 12 constables embraced martyrdom in bandits’ attack in Kacha area of Rahim Yar Khan—which is located on the border between Punjab and Sindh.
Punjab Inspector General of Police Dr. Usman Anwar and other police officers reached Kacha area to supervise the operation against the dacoits.
According to the sources, Sindh and Punjab police chiefs also held telephonic conversation and decided to launch coordinated attacks against the dacoits. The both police chiefs said that they would also launch intelligence-based operation against them to restore law and order in the area.
