Three ECP officers suspended for incompetence, misconduct
Committee will complete the investigation within three days and submit its report
Islamabad: Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja suspended three Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) officers for 120 days for incompetence and misconduct.
According to the notification issued by the ECP, Provincial Election Commissioner Sindh Sharifullah, Director Admin Election Commission Sindh Azhar Hussain Tanwari were suspended for incompetence and misconduct.
According to the notification, Election Officer Karachi Khuda Bakhsh has also been suspended and directed that the three officers will remain in Karachi until the inquiry is completed and further orders.
While Joint Provincial Election Commissioner Ali Asghar Sial has been appointed Acting Election Commissioner Sindh.
The Election Commission stated that on the night of September 17, many bags of different polling stations were damaged by forcibly breaking the locks of the strong room in Papri Karachi, for which a committee has been established to investigate.
The notification of Election Commission further stated that Joint Provincial Election Commissioner Sindh Nazar Abbas, Director Waseem Ahmed and REC Larkana Abdul Waheed are included in the inquiry committee.
According to the Election Commission, the committee will complete the investigation within three days and submit its report.
