Prices of 17 commodities rise despite fall in inflation
Trend of increase in the prices of 17 items was observed
Islamabad: Despite the government's claims of reducing inflation, the prices of food items are increasing.
The prices of essential commodities in the country have decreased by 0.52 percent weekly and increased by 12.72 percent on an annual basis.
During the week, the prices of 15 items of daily use decreased and the prices of 19 items remained stable. On the contrary, the trend of increase in the prices of 17 items was observed.
The Bureau of Statistics has released data for the week ending September 19, in which the Consumer Price Sensitive Index (SPI) was recorded at 317.61 points, which was 319.28 points in the consecutive week and 281.77 points last year.
