£190mn reference hearing adjourned till tomorrow
Request for adjournment of today's hearing was filed by the defense lawyer which was approved
Islamabad: In the 190-million-pound reference under hearing against former Prime Minister Imran Khan and former First Lady Bushra Bibi in Accountability Court Islamabad, the investigating officer could not be cross-examined even today. The court expressed agitation at the absence of the lawyer and adjourned the hearing till tomorrow giving a last chance.
During the hearing of the 190-million-pound reference against Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in Adiala Jail, lawyer Usman Gull did not appear in court due to illness.
A request for adjournment of today's hearing was filed by the defense lawyer which was approved.
The prosecution took the position that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) witnesses are appearing in court for the 23rd time, and the lawyers are not completing their cross-examination.
The court told the assistant of the lawyer that there is a direction of the High Court on your request that the trial should continue.
The court remarked that despite the court orders, you are not cooperating. It adjourned the hearing till Wednesday, expressing its displeasure at the absence of the lawyer and giving a last chance.
