Pakistan introduces i-TOPCon Vertex N 700W+ Solar Modules
These high-performance modules are designed for maximum efficiency
Lahore: Solar energy consumers in Pakistan now have access to the latest 700-watt solar panels.
Trinasolar, a global leader in photovoltaic (PV) and smart energy solutions, has launched its advanced Vertex N 720W series (NEG21C.20) powered by n-type i-TOPCon Advanced cell technology in Pakistan.
These high-performance modules are designed for maximum efficiency, reliability, and durability, making them ideal for large-scale solar installations. The introduction of these cutting-edge modules is expected to revolutionize Pakistan's solar energy sector, especially as demand for clean, efficient energy solutions continues to grow.
The Vertex N 720W series is based on 210mm n-type i-TOPCon technology. These modules boast a maximum power conversion efficiency of 23.2% and a maximum power output of 720W. This represents a significant boost in power generation, offering higher output and reducing balance-of-system (BOS) costs.
The 700W+ modules are specifically designed for large utility-scale solar farms and industrial projects, making them a key asset in Pakistan's growing solar energy market.
With the advanced TOPCon and multi-busbar (MBB) design, the modules enable greater light absorption and higher energy conversion, resulting in enhanced performance even in low-light conditions. The Vertex N 720W series has been recognized as a Top Performer in all seven tests conducted by Kiwa PVEL, a leading certification service. Only three other models out of the 380 tested received this distinction.
The modules have also been globally certified by UL Solutions and TÜV Rheinland. They have undergone extensive testing, including temperature fluctuations and UV degradation, proving their ability to withstand challenging environments like Pakistan’s diverse climate.
Thanks to their higher power output per module, fewer panels are needed for any given installation, which lowers overall costs related to racking, wiring, and labor. A recent assessment by UL Solutions highlighted the low levelized cost of energy (LCOE) and reduced capital expenditures (CAPEX) associated with the Vertex N 720W series, further reinforcing its financial viability for both new and retrofitted projects.
Trinasolar was the first to mass-produce TOPCon modules with power exceeding 720W in lab settings. i-TOPCon technology ensures ultra-low degradation rates and extended lifespans, making these modules among the most reliable in the market.
Testing by TÜV Rheinland, including a UV300 test, showed an ultra-low degradation rate of just 1.6% in the first year, much lower than industry standards. This ensures that solar installations maintain high efficiency for longer, maximizing return on investment.
Additionally, these modules are bifacial, meaning they can capture sunlight from both sides of the panel. This feature is especially advantageous in environments like deserts, where reflected sunlight can be converted into additional energy.
Trinasolar’s i-TOPCon modules have been rigorously tested in extreme conditions, including freezing temperatures as low as -43°C, with 7cm of snow accumulation. PV Magazine reported that these modules performed exceptionally well in low-temperature environments, proving their reliability for installations in Pakistan’s colder northern regions.
As Pakistan aims to reduce its reliance on fossil fuels, Trinasolar’s advanced solar technologies offer a viable alternative. The country has vast potential for solar energy, particularly in areas with abundant sunlight. The introduction of 700W+ and i-TOPCon modules will support Pakistan’s transition to clean energy and help it meet its renewable energy goals.
While these technologies are new to Pakistan, they have already been successfully implemented in other countries, including Japan, where i-TOPCon modules have delivered outstanding performance across a variety of applications. Trinasolar’s proven track record positions the company to contribute significantly to Pakistan’s solar growth, providing cost-efficient solutions for both commercial and utility-scale projects.
“We are excited to bring our 700W+ and i-TOPCon modules to Pakistan at a time when the country is focusing on energy diversification and reducing its carbon footprint,” said Dave Wang, Trinasolar Asia Pacific’s Subregion Head. “These products not only offer high efficiency and long-term durability but also align with our global vision of ‘Solar Energy for All.’ Pakistan’s growing solar market is a key opportunity for us, and we are committed to supporting the country’s clean energy transition with the best available technology.”
Balawal Baber, Business Head of Zero Carbon Solar, also emphasized the importance of this launch. “With the high potential for solar energy and increasing demand, Trinasolar’s Vertex N 720W series will be a game changer in Pakistan. The modules' high efficiency, durability, and improved power density will benefit industries across the country, helping them achieve sustainability. The reduced design, installation, and BOS costs will further drive the dynamics of Pakistan’s solar industry, accelerating the shift towards sustainable energy solutions.”
