Police officer dies from injuries sustained in violent protest in Islamabad
Hamid Shah suffered serious injuries in clash with PTI workers at the 26 Number Chungi area

Islamabad: A police officer who was injured during a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest has passed away while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
According to police sources, Hamid Shah suffered serious injuries at the 26 Number Chungi area and was taken to PIMS Hospital, where he later succumbed to his wounds.
Islamabad police have confirmed that the funeral prayers for the fallen officer will be held soon at the police lines.
Hailing from Abbottabad, Abdul Hamid Shah had joined the Islamabad police in 1988. He was set to retire in just three months after completing his service.
On October 4, all routes leading to the Red Zone in Islamabad were blocked with containers in anticipation of the PTI's planned protest at D-Chowk.
The demonstrations led to intense clashes between protesters and police, with police resorting to shelling while demonstrators retaliated with stone-pelting, resulting in injuries to several officers.
