Reportedly, he was taken by Rangers from the KP House in Islamabad on Saturday


Islamabad: The whereabouts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur remained a mystery amid the conflicting reports of his alleged detention.
Gandapur was reportedly taken by Rangers from the KP House in Islamabad on Saturday, where he had been leading the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest in the capital.
KP government spokesperson Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif took to social media platform X, previously known as Twitter, to announce that the chief minister had been arrested. However, in a later statement, Saif backtracked, saying Gandapur had "not been formally arrested."
In his post, Saif clarified, “The KP CM is on bail until October 25. Arresting him would be an affront to the will of the people of KP. The illegal actions of this fake government will be answered for.”
Later, during a television talk show, Saif revealed that Gandapur was with his staff when Rangers entered KP House in Islamabad. However, he expressed concern that no contact had been made with the chief minister since the incident, stating, "He would have informed us if he had left for Peshawar."
Saif confirmed that his last communication with Gandapur occurred via satellite phone at 8 a.m. on Saturday, but since then, his location has remained unknown.
Despite earlier reports, the federal government denied any involvement in Gandapur’s arrest and has yet to provide clarification on his current status. His whereabouts remain unknown.
