US Election: Results of late-night polls released

Washington: Election day voting has begun in the US presidential elections and the first results have also come out.

Election Day voting in the United States presidential election began overnight in New Hampshire and the first vote was cast in Dixville Notch, a small town in New Hampshire.

According to foreign media, a total of six votes were registered in Dixville Notch, of which both Donald Trump and Kamala Harris got three votes each, and thus the competition between the Democrat and Republican candidates in a small town in New Hampshire was equal.

According to the report, in the 2020 US presidential election, Joe Biden got all five votes from this town, while Trump could not get a single vote.

The US media reported that late-night voting in the town of Dixville Notch, earlier than all other states in the United States, began in 1960 and is now a tradition.

It is pertinent note to note that the presidential elections in the United States are going to be held today and the voting on the election day will start regularly a few hours from now, while the start and end time of voting may be different in each state.

More than one million Americans have cast their vote so far through early voting ballots and e-mail voting.

Republican candidate Donald Trump and Democrat Kamala Harris are expected to face off in the presidential election, with either candidate needing at least 270 of the 538 electoral votes to be elected president.
