PTI challenges Election Tribunal change case in SC
Petition requested SC to declare June 10 decision of ECP to change Election Tribunal null and void
Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has challenged the decision to change the Election Tribunal in the Supreme Court.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Ali Bukhari has challenged the decision in the Supreme Court.
The petition said that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had decided to change the tribunal, and it did not consult the Chief Justice in this regard.
It was also stated in the petition that Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) was heading the Election Tribunal and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidates had challenged it in the ECP. And the Commission had changed the tribunal at the request of the PML-N candidates.
The petition requested that the Supreme Court should declare the June 10 decision of the ECP to change the Election Tribunal null and void, and at the appeal of PTI, the September 19 decision of the IHC should also be nullified and the first tribunal should be restored.
