Australian team was bowled out for 238 runs in pursuit of 534 runs
Perth: India defeated Australia by 295 runs in the first Test of the series on Monday.
On the fourth day of the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy played in Perth, the Australian team was bowled out for 238 runs in pursuit of 534 runs.
In the first Test, which began on November 22, India won the toss and decided to bat first. The Indian team was bowled out for 150 runs in its first innings, while the Australian team could only score 104 runs in its first innings.
India declared the second innings at 487 runs for the loss of six wickets and set Australia a target of 534 runs to win. Chasing the target, the Kangaroos were all out for 238 runs and India won the match by 295 runs.
In the second innings of the match, Yashvi Jaiswal scored 161 runs and Virat Kohli scored 100 runs, while KL Rahul was outstanding with 77 runs.
Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah took a total of eight wickets in the match.
The second Test of the five-match series between the two teams will begin in Adelaide on December 5, which will be a day-night match.
