LHC makes new schools registration conditional to bus policy
Court made school buses mandatory in schools registration
Lahore: The Lahore High Court (LHC) issued an order to make the registration of new schools conditional to the school bus policy.
Justice Shahid Karim heard the petitions filed in the LHC for the control of smog, during which the relevant authorities appeared in the court.
During the hearing, the court asked why steps were not taken for school buses for children. Why was the court order to start buses for 50 percent of children not implemented? The Secretary of Schools violated the court orders.
Justice Shahid Karim remarked that a policy report should be submitted in this regard by December 30. School buses should be made mandatory in the registration of schools, otherwise, new registrations should be stopped. Every school should adopt this policy.
In the court, the member judicial commission said that they told the MD WASA to restart the work of water meters. On this WASA's lawyer said that they had financial problems with the Chinese company which wanted to open an account here.
Justice Shahid Karim said that the work has been delayed a lot. It should be started soon or smog will start again in the next month.
Later, the court made the registration of new schools conditional to the school bus policy and adjourned the further hearing of the case till December 30.
