Out of 21 Pakistanis deported from UAE, four were involved in drug smuggling


Islamabad: 258 Pakistanis were deported from seven countries including Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates (UAE), and China.
According to media reports, immigration authorities said that 232 people including seven beggars were deported from Saudi Arabia and UAE.
The reports suggested that Pakistanis were also deported from China, Qatar, Indonesia, Cyprus, and Nigeria.
According to media reports, the citizenship of one of the deportees is questionable, while 16 passengers were arrested upon arrival in Karachi.
It is also reported that two people caught performing Hajj without a permit were sent back after completing their sentences and four Pakistanis who went Saudi Arabia for Umrah were sent back after overstaying.
According to immigration authorities, 27 Pakistanis were caught working without a sponsor. 16 people were staying in Saudi Arabia after their visas expired.
The media reports stated that 112 Pakistanis were arrested and sent to Pakistan on the complaint of sponsors.
Immigration authorities reported that out of the 21 Pakistanis deported from the UAE, four were involved in drug smuggling.
According to immigration, one Pakistani each was also deported from China, Qatar, Indonesia, Cyprus and Nigeria.
It was also reported that the names of 16 people deported from the UAE and Nigeria are included in the stop list.
It is pertinent to note that in the past few days, 63 Pakistanis were deported from four countries including Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
