6 killed, 38 injured as gas-filled bowser explodes in Multan industrial estate
Police said the deceased included 3 women and 2 men, including a girl
Multan: A gas-filled bowser exploded in Multan's industrial estate, killing six people and injuring 38.
According to rescue officials, the LPG bowser caught fire after the explosion and the pieces of the bowser fell on the nearby population.
Rescue officials said that after several hours of struggle, the fire was extinguished. More than 10 vehicles participated in extinguishing the fire, and foam was also used.
CPO Multan Sadiq Ali said that several houses were destroyed in the gas bowser explosion and animals were burnt to death.
He said that gas was still leaking from the LPG bowser. The area had been evacuated, and five people were killed and 31 were injured in the bowser explosion, the condition of 13 injured is critical.
Police said that the deceased included 3 women and 2 men, including a girl.
On the other hand, the District Emergency Officer says an emergency has been imposed in Nishtar Hospital, and a search operation is underway in the surrounding areas.
According to the District Emergency Officer, electricity and gas supply has been suspended at the accident site and surrounding areas, while the Multan-Muzaffargarh Road has now been opened for traffic.
