Can AI outperform traditional methods in space weather prediction?
AI model successfully predicted solar flares, coronal mass ejections with remarkable accuracy

A study has claimed that artificial intelligence can predict space weather more effectively than traditional methods.
According to foreign media, a study conducted by the University of Geneva has asserted that artificial intelligence can be used more efficiently to forecast space weather.
The study explains that by analyzing real-time sensor data alongside historical data, AI can help predict geomagnetic storms that may affect Earth’s satellite systems and power grids.
The research highlights that scientists used data from the latest phenomenon in May 2024, and the AI model successfully predicted solar flares and coronal mass ejections with remarkable accuracy.
The AI system identified patterns in solar activity that were more difficult to detect using traditional instruments.
