Trump emphasized that US would take care of Palestinians and ensure they are not harmed
Washington: US President Donald Trump has stated that he stands by his remarks about buying and owning Gaza.
Speaking to journalists during a flight, President Trump reiterated that he remains committed to purchasing and owning Gaza. He also suggested that consideration could be given to offering portions of land to other Middle Eastern countries to assist in the region's rebuilding process.
Trump emphasized that the US would take care of the Palestinians and ensure they are not harmed. He believes Middle Eastern countries will be willing to settle Palestinians when talks take place with them.
The US President mentioned that he would engage in discussions with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the Egyptian President to make Gaza a prosperous location for future development. He also indicated that he would meet Russian President Vladimir Putin at an appropriate time.
Additionally, Trump stated that he would announce a 25 percent tariff on imported steel and aluminum later today.
It is worth noting that in recent days, President Trump has declared his intent for the US to take control of Gaza.
Trump had said that the US would take possession of the Gaza Strip, making it their own. The goal, according to him, is to bring stability to the region and create thousands of jobs.
The US President also stated that he sees long-term ownership of Gaza, with plans to develop the area, create jobs for the people, and settle civilians.
Trump's statement was met with opposition from the United Nations and several countries, who rejected the idea of expelling Palestinians from Gaza and instead advocated for a two-state solution.
