Application for relief of Rs52.12 billion has been filed with NEPRA


Islamabad: The government is committed to providing affordable electricity to the public and in this regard, an application has been filed to make electricity cheaper by Rs2.
There is a possibility of electricity becoming cheaper in the quarterly adjustment for the entire country, including Karachi. Electricity distribution companies have approached the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to make electricity cheaper by about Rs2 per unit.
An application for a relief of Rs52.12 billion has been filed with NEPRA for electricity consumers.
The application has been submitted under the second quarterly adjustment of the current financial year. NEPRA will hear the application of the discos on February 12.
