Taliban commanders are openly eyeing Tajikistan


At a gathering in Badakhshan’s Ishkashim district, Maulvi Amanuddin Mansoor (Taliban 217 Corps Commander) claimed that if allowed, he could take over Tajikistan, mocking Tajiks and dismissing Russia as an obstacle due to its involvement in Ukraine.
Taliban commanders are openly eyeing Tajikistan, a testament to their expansionist mindset, which exposes their indifference to regional peace and stability.
A government that once promised non-interference is now threatening its neighbors. The world must recognize that the Taliban’s ambitions extend beyond Afghanistan.
By calling Tajikistan weak and rejecting Russian deterrence, Taliban commanders are recklessly inviting conflict, completely ignoring diplomacy and coexistence.
Their misplaced confidence comes from the Doha agreement, where they gained legitimacy without accountability. It should serve as a lesson to the world that appeasement only encourages aggression.
If the Taliban cannot control their factions by threatening war, how can they be trusted as a legitimate government? Their words expose their callousness.
A government that envisions military conquests rather than economic recovery and governance is a threat to the region. Their priorities betray their claims of reform.
