Former England international striker Paul Mariner has died Saturday after battling with brain cancer. He was 68.

On its official twitter handle, the England team wrote, “We’re sad to have learned that Paul Mariner, who made 35 appearances for the Three Lions, has passed away at the age of 68.
The statement further added, “Mariner represented England between 1977 and 1985, scoring 13 goals”.
Grieving over the demise of champion, the statement further added, “Our thoughts and sympathies are with his family, friends and former clubs”.

Mariner scored 139 goals in 339 games for Ipswich and was a member of their FA Cup winning side of 1978 and the team that won the UEFA Cup in 1981.
He also earned 35 caps for England scored 13 times for his country.
Mariner, began his career at Plymouth Argyle, scored 135 goals in 339 matches for Ipswich.
He was part of Bobby Robson's FA Cup-winning side of 1977-78 and went on to lift the UEFA Cup with the team in 1980-81, the club said.
Moreover, Paul led the line for England in the 1982 World Cup finals.
