Islamabad: Pakistan has reported a steep rise in daily coronavirus cases amid fears of fourth wave.

According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 1,980 cases of coronavirus were reported while 27 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 22,582.

The total number of confirmed cases reached to 973,284.

As many as 913,203 patients have recovered from the disease with 2,119 critical cases.

Punjab                                                                                       

The number of patients swelled to 348,085 in the province with 10,819 causalities.

Sindh

The number of infections has surged to 346,360 in the province, while the death toll has reached 5,599.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

The confirmed cases have surged to 139,313 in the province with 4,359 casualties.

Balochistan

There are 27,961 confirmed cases while 317 patients have died from the infection so far.

AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan

There are 21,067 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 594. On the other hand, there are 6,851 cases in GB with 111 coronavirus deaths.

Islamabad

There are 83,647 cases in the capital city while 783 people have lost their lives.
