Meteorological Department advises citizens to take precautionary measures


(Web Desk): In Karachi, the intensity of the heat is gradually increasing, and the Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave alert, advising citizens to take precautions.
According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature in Karachi is expected to rise by one to two degrees starting today, with the maximum temperature likely to reach 38°C.
The current temperature in the city is recorded at 27°C, with partly cloudy skies and intermittent strong winds continuing. Winds from the western direction are blowing at a speed of 17 km/h. However, from tomorrow, the sea breeze will stop, leading to a significant increase in temperature.
The Meteorological Department has stated that a heatwave condition could develop in Karachi from tomorrow until April 23, with temperatures potentially reaching 40°C. During this period, the weather is expected to remain extremely hot and dry, and nights could also be warmer than usual.
According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature could rise by 4 to 6 degrees from tomorrow, with humidity levels ranging from 40 to 50 percent during the day.
In light of the extreme heat, the Meteorological Department has advised citizens to take precautionary measures. They should avoid direct exposure to the sun, refrain from going outside during peak hours, and stay hydrated to protect themselves from the heat.
