NDMA warns that a severe heatwave is likely to persist nationwide until April 27


Islamabad: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued an advisory warning of a heatwave across the country starting today and lasting until April 27.
According to the advisory, rain is expected today in various areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir.
Over the past 24 hours, Jacobabad recorded the highest temperature in the country at 43°C.
The advisory also reported temperatures in various regions:
- Mithi, Bahawalnagar, Nawabshah: 42°C
- Karachi, Kasur, Lasbela: 41°C
- Lahore: 38°C
- Islamabad: 36°C
- Peshawar: 35°C
- Muzaffarabad: 33°C
- Quetta: 25°C
- Gilgit: 22°C
The NDMA has cautioned that a severe heatwave is likely to persist nationwide until April 27, urging citizens and authorities to take precautionary measures.
