WhatsApp simplifies voice recording in new update
The feature is currently available to some beta testers, but it will be rolled out to more people in the coming weeks

(Web Desk): WhatsApp is set to make its voice recording feature smoother and faster in an upcoming update, allowing users to record voice messages with just a single tap.
This change is currently being tested by some users who downloaded the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS (version 25.13.10.70) through the TestFlight app.
At present, there are two main ways to send a voice message on WhatsApp. The first involves pressing and holding the microphone button in a chat. When the button is released, the message is automatically sent if it has been recorded for at least a second. The second method is for longer recordings, where users press the microphone button and slide their finger upwards to lock the recording. This lock allows users to speak freely without holding the button.
With the new update, WhatsApp is combining these two methods into one. Now, users will only need to tap the microphone button to start recording. The lock feature will automatically activate, so there is no need to keep the button pressed or swipe up. This change simplifies the process and makes it feel more fluid, as users can start recording right away without any extra steps.
This small but important update aims to make sending voice messages quicker and easier. It reduces the need for extra gestures and creates a smoother experience for users. While this new way of recording may feel a little unfamiliar at first, especially for those used to holding the button or swiping up, most users will likely find it intuitive after trying it a few times.
The feature is currently available to some beta testers, but it will be rolled out to more people in the coming weeks. This update is expected to make WhatsApp’s voice message feature more efficient and improve the overall user experience, especially for those who use voice messages as part of their daily communication.
