Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has issued the CDA Amendment Ordinance 2025.
After the approval of the President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, the gazette notification of the CDA Amendment Ordinance has also been issued.
After the amendment, compensation will now be paid not only in cash but also in land or other forms. The Deputy Commissioner will be authorized to award separate contracts for land and buildings.
The amendment ordinance will provide legal protection for the rehabilitation and resettlement of the affected people, and an additional compensation of 8 percent per annum will have to be paid for late payment.
The ordinance has also included special measures for disabled, minors, or legally compelled persons, and the property will be able to be transferred from the CDA without any hindrance.
New guarantees to protect the rights of landowners have also been included in the amendments, while restoration of the quality of life of the affected people has been declared mandatory. Cases pending before October 2025 will be disposed of under the new policy.
