Premier says PAF downed five Indian warplanes, including 3 Rafale, in retaliation

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that India, blinded by the pride of its Rafale jets, was given a strong and effective response.
"Those who claimed that Pakistan lags behind in conventional warfare got a reality check last night. Five Indian jets were shot down — and we could have downed ten if we wanted."
Speaking in the National Assembly, the Prime Minister said the enemy tried to attack Pakistan under the cover of darkness, but the Pakistan Army responded forcefully and turned their aggression into a night of victory. He alleged connections between banned groups like the BLA and TTP with India.
He also said that India summoned the ambassador of a friendly country that supported Pakistan’s peace offer. "I congratulate the 240 million people of Pakistan that our forces were on full alert. India didn’t even condemn the attack on the Jaffer Express and instead mocked it."
Shehbaz Sharif added that India took great pride in the jets it bought, including Rafales. "A few days ago, Indian Rafale jets took off, and our Air Force locked their communication systems. We salute our Air Force chief for this. We were fully aware of India's evil intentions."
The Prime Minister revealed that around 80 Indian aircraft participated in the recent attack, of which five, including Rafale jets, were shot down along with two drones. "Our armed forces were fully prepared to respond to any aggression. We had intelligence about India’s provocative plans."
He reiterated: "India, proud of its Rafales, received a befitting response. When their jets tried to drop payloads, our aircraft shot them down. Our fighter pilots locked their communication systems. While India sent 80 jets to attack Pakistan, five were brought down — and we could have taken down 10, but we acted with restraint."
Praising the military, he said, "Salute to the Pakistan Air Force for their strong response. Our forces were ready around the clock to throw Indian jets into the sea. I salute Air Chief Zaheer Babar."
He added that Pakistan had offered transparent international investigations into the Pahalgam incident, but instead of accepting the offer, India chose the path of aggression.
He also mentioned attending the funeral prayer of a martyred child alongside the President and the Army Chief. "Yesterday’s events brought a great victory for Pakistan. I urge PTI members to join hands and present a united front to the world. Let’s honor our brave soldiers who are the real heroes of this country. This victory was possible due to our excellent preparedness."
He concluded by offering to visit the opposition chamber, saying, "I invite PTI and all parties to come together and build a stronger Pakistan. Now is the time to show the world that we stand united."
