FO spokesperson called on int’l community to take notice of growing extremism against Muslims in India


Islamabad: The Foreign Office spokesperson has expressed deep concern over the increasing incidents of Islamophobia in India and said that Pakistan is closely monitoring the alarming increase in these incidents.
The Foreign Office spokesperson stated that the targeting of Muslims, hate speeches, discriminatory policies, and state-sponsored acts in India are not only a serious violation of human rights but also a threat to regional stability.
He added that Pakistan is deeply concerned about the growing Islamophobic trends in India and calls on the Indian government to ensure religious freedom, security, and equal rights of all citizens regardless of their religion.
The Foreign Office has stressed that at a time when the world is in dire need of tolerance, understanding, and interfaith harmony. It is extremely regrettable to use religious hatred for political or ideological purposes.
The Foreign Office spokesperson has also called on the international community to take notice of the growing extremism against Muslims in India and ensure immediate steps to protect minorities.
