(Web Desk): Olympic gold medalist javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem has dedicated Asian Athletics Championship gold medal to Pakistan Armed Forces.
Speaking to the media in Mian Channu, Arshad Nadeem said, “I dedicate this medal to the Armed Forces of Pakistan. The prayers of the nation and my family were with me. No matter what, gold is gold.”
He added, “After Eid, I will be touring England for the World Athletics Championship. My coach will decide the next steps in my training, but I will give it my all to return victorious.”
Arshad Nadeem also shared that a stadium is currently under construction in his village. “I’m grateful to the Punjab government for this initiative,” he said. “My message to the youth is: once the stadium is ready, come to me and learn.”
It is worth noting that Arshad Nadeem recently won the gold medal in the javelin throw final at the Asian Athletics Championship held in South Korea.
This marks Pakistan’s first gold medal in the history of the Asian Athletics Championship since 1973.
