China develops mosquito-sized drone for military use
This prototype drone can be controlled via a smartphone

(Web Desk): Chinese scientists have developed a mosquito-sized drone that can also be used for military purposes.
A robotics laboratory at China’s National University of Defense Technology (NUDT) created this drone robot.
A report about it was aired on China Central Television (CCTV).
During the report, NUDT researcher Liang Hexiang presented the drone.
Liang Hexiang stated, “In my hand is a mosquito-sized robotic drone. Such small robots can be used for information gathering and special missions on the battlefield.”
The drone has two tiny wings that resemble leaves, and its legs are extremely thin.
According to the report, this prototype drone can be controlled via a smartphone.
Fitting sensors, power devices, control circuits, and other components into such a small device is a major challenge in developing drones like this.
These miniature drones can be used by military personnel to assess their surrounding environment.
Beyond that, they could also be used for medical purposes.
