Lahore: Acclaimed Pakistani journalist and former caretaker federal minister who is the founder of the Pakistan Today Arif Nizami passed away in Lahore on Wednesday. He was 74.

Reportedly, the much-admired journalist was not in good health from last few months.
Previously, he has been an editor of The Nation and has served as Minister of Information and Postal Service in the Khoso caretaker ministry.
Reports in local media quoted family sources said the senior journalist was admitted at a private medical facility for the last three weeks after suffering a cardiac arrest.
The funeral prayers and burial for the departed soul will be announced later.
Arif Nizami was the son of Editor and pioneer of daily Nawa-i-Waqt and remained associated with print and electronic media.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan, reacting to the journalist's sad demise wrote, "Saddened to learn of the passing of veteran journalist, editor, and political commentator Arif Nizami."
