Emirates, Dubai Duty Free partner with Crypto.com to enable cryptocurrency payments
The initiative will offer passengers greater flexibility and choice in how they transact with Emirates

(Web Desk): Dubai’s flagship airline Emirates and Dubai Duty Free have signed agreements with Crypto.com, allowing travelers to pay for air tickets and shopping using cryptocurrency, according to a Khaleej Times report.
Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, stated that the integration of crypto payment systems is expected next year.
Commenting on the development, Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, said: “Our partnership with Crypto.com and the inclusion of cryptocurrency in our digital payment systems reflects Emirates’ commitment to continuous innovation in line with evolving customer preferences. It also aims to connect with younger, tech-savvy consumers who prefer digital currencies.”
He added that the initiative will offer passengers greater flexibility and choice in how they transact with Emirates.
On the other hand, Eric Anziani, President and COO of Crypto.com, remarked: “As we expand the everyday use of crypto, integration with an exceptional partner like Emirates will bring real momentum to the digital asset industry. Together, we can offer innovative financial solutions to our customers, and we look forward to strengthening our crypto network across the Gulf region.”
Both companies announced plans to launch promotional marketing campaigns to raise awareness and encourage adoption of the new payment option.
Meanwhile, Dubai Duty Free has also signed a partnership with Crypto.com to explore crypto payment options both in-store and online. This agreement will offer travelers more diverse and modern ways to pay, while expanding cooperation through strategic partnerships, joint marketing campaigns, and customer engagement programs.
Ramesh Cidambi, Managing Director of Dubai Duty Free, stated: “As a global hub welcoming millions of travelers, Dubai Duty Free is always striving to enhance the retail experience. We believe adopting digital payment methods like cryptocurrency is a forward-looking step that adds value for our diverse customer base and supports our vision for sustainable growth.”
Eric Anziani added that integrating with a prestigious partner like Dubai Duty Free will help accelerate the digital asset industry and enable both companies to deliver modern financial solutions to their customers.
It is worth noting that many real estate developers in the UAE are already accepting cryptocurrency payments from buyers.
