Dengue cases have increased by 41 percent and malaria by 26 percent

Floods in Pakistan have increased the number of epidemic diseases.
According to a report by the World Health Organization (WHO), dengue cases have increased by 41 percent and malaria by 26 percent after the floods in Pakistan.
The report states that cholera is spreading in Balochistan and Sindh, while cases of scabies, skin diseases, snakebites, and dog bites have increased in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The report further states that dozens of hospitals in flood-affected areas have been destroyed or severely damaged.
The World Health Organization has warned that if immediate measures are not taken, Pakistan's health system could be overwhelmed by the burden of epidemics.
