A delegation from US Strategic Metals (USSM), accompanied by Zach Harkenrider, Acting Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in Islamabad, signed the MoU today at the Prime Minister’s Office with the Frontier Works Organisation.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, US Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker remarked: “This agreement is yet another example of the strengthening of US-Pakistan bilateral relations, which will bring mutual benefit to both countries.”
Based in the state of Missouri, US Strategic Metals specialises in the production and recycling of critical minerals, which the US Department of Energy has identified as essential for advanced manufacturing and energy-related technologies.
Highlighting the importance of such bilateral agreements, Ms Baker added: “The Trump administration has made such partnerships a top priority, as critical mineral resources are vital to America’s security and prosperity.”
She further noted: “We look forward to seeing more agreements in the future between US companies and their partners in Pakistan in the fields of minerals and mining.”
