License will be renewed depending on the performance of teachers


Peshawar: Teaching in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has now become mandatory with a license. The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has decided to issue licenses for teachers. Without a license, no one will be able to teach in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the details, the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has taken an important decision to issue licenses for teachers. The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education will issue licenses for teachers, no one will be able to teach in the province without a license.
According to the official document, only registered and licensed teachers will have the authority to teach. The Education Department will establish a regulatory body for the registration of teachers.
According to the document, the regulatory body will create Terms of Reference (TORs) for the license of teachers. Licenses will be issued to teachers who meet the standards. No one will be allowed to teach without a license.
The regulatory body will have the authority to decide who to issue licenses to and who not. The license will be renewed depending on the performance of the teachers.
The official document informs that the Education Department will spend Rs200 million on the establishment of the regulatory body.
It is pertinent to note that the Sindh Cabinet approved the introduction of a teaching license policy in schools in May 2023.
The spokesperson for the Chief Minister of Sindh informed that the Teaching License Policy was presented by the Education Department in the Sindh Cabinet meeting, which was approved by the Cabinet.
Education Minister Sardar Shah had said that Pakistan is ranked 63rd out of 64 countries in the trends of international mathematics and science studies.
He had said that the aim of the Teaching License Policy is to bring professional skills among teachers, and countries that have introduced the teaching license system have moved forward in education.
