He became first Governor General of Pakistan and remained in this position until his death on September 11, 1948

Karachi: The 77th death anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the historic figure who single-handedly defeated the British and Congress by establishing a separate state for the Muslims of India and changing the map of the subcontinent, is being observed today with devotion and respect.
Muhammad Ali Jinnah was given the title of ‘Quaid-e-Azam’ by Maulana Mazharuddin in 1937. Under his passionate leadership, the Muslims of India obtained a separate homeland, Pakistan, and got rid of British rule. The great leader gave the Muslims of the subcontinent a separate identity and goal.
Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah defeated the corrupt politicians like Gandhi and Nehru in the political arena, stood as a leaden wall in front of Lord Mountbatten’s ambitions, addressed the concerns of his people, and included them in the struggle for Pakistan.
He first stood shoulder to shoulder with the Congress in the freedom struggle, but when he realized that there was no option but partition, he worked day and night for a separate state for the Muslims.
Quaid-e-Azam made every effort to consolidate the shattered Pakistan after independence, but life did not give him much opportunity.
After the establishment of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam became the first Governor General of this holy land and remained in this position until his death on September 11, 1948.
In his message to the nation before his death, the Quaid-e-Azam described the path to the future in these words: “The foundation of your kingdom has been laid, now it is your duty to build it”.
