Under the project, approximately 100 e-gates will be installed at each airport

Lahore: The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has completed a key phase in the design of the E-Gates project at Lahore, Islamabad, and Karachi airports.
According to reports, under the project, approximately 100 e-gates will be installed at each airport. These gates will use a biometric system to swiftly process passengers holding e-passports through immigration, eliminating queues and long waiting times.
The tendering process for the e-gates will begin soon, and after its completion, the selected company will commence work. German consultancy firm M2P Consulting will prepare detailed technical specifications and tender documents to attract proposals from companies that meet international standards.
According to the Pakistan Airports Authority, this project is part of a broader vision to equip the country's international airports with modern, secure, and smart technology—ensuring safer, faster, and more convenient services for passengers.
