Number of skilled workers going to Saudi Arabia from Pakistan has increased significantly

Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations are entering a new era where significant progress is being made in the areas of defense cooperation, as well as economic and manpower. The recent defense agreement between the two countries has not only strengthened mutual trust but is also expected to open new doors of employment for Pakistani manpower in the Middle East.
The government of Pakistan has now set a target of doubling the export of manpower to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which could have a profound impact on the country’s remittances and economy in the future.
According to Arab News, the number of skilled workers going to Saudi Arabia from Pakistan has increased significantly in the first seven months of 2025.
Saudi Arabia has become the largest destination country for Pakistani workers and also provides a major share of foreign exchange. In August, Pakistan received $736.7 million from Saudi Arabia, which is part of a total income of $3.1 billion.
According to analysts, the ongoing development projects under Saudi Vision 2030, the hosting of the 2034 FIFA World Cup, and the related construction have increased the demand for Pakistani skills, especially in the healthcare sector, construction, services, and delivery sectors.
Pakistan has partnered with Saudi Arabia under the ‘Takamol Program’, through which the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) is certifying the workforce in 62 skill categories in various sectors.
This is a great opportunity for the youth as the government and the private sector are working together to promote training programs and skill certification so that Pakistani citizens not only go in larger numbers but also carry better qualifications and skills. Pakistan has also proposed an e-visa system and other facilities to make the process easier for those seeking work.
During this period, there have been significant changes in the labor trends of the Gulf countries, where the number of Pakistanis is increasing in Saudi Arabia and Qatar, while countries like the United Arab Emirates and Oman have seen a decline. The reasons include a decrease in the demand for individuals there and the availability of cheap labor from other countries.
Overall, these figures reflect that Saudi Arabia has become a major investment and employment destination for Pakistanis, so young people who are looking for a bright future should take full advantage of this opportunity and prepare for jobs in Saudi Arabia.
