Indian Army helicopter crashes
Kashmir: In a major setback, Indian Army’s helicopter has crashed near Ranjit Sagar Dam lake in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district.
According to Indian local media, the helicopter of the 254 Army Aviation Squadron took off from Mamun Cantt at 10:20 am (Indian time) and crashed while carrying out low-level sorties in the Ranjit Sagar Dam area.
Teams have been dispatched to the scene to carry out search and rescue operations. No casualty has been reported in the incident.
The dam, where the helicopter crashed, is located about 30 km from Pathankot in Punjab.
Earlier in January, one Indian Army pilot was killed when a helicopter crashed in Kathua district's Lakhanpur near the Jammu and Kashmir-Punjab border.
