Islamabad: National Disaster Management Authority predicts heavy snowfall in northern parts of the country till Thursday.
According to a weather alert, a westerly weather system is likely to bring moderate to heavy snowfall, intermittent rain, and isolated thunderstorms across several northern and upper regions of the country.
Parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir as well as Murree and Galiyat are likely to experience snowfall during the alert period, with intermittent rainfall and isolated thunderstorms in some areas.
In view of the expected weather conditions, the NDMA has advised the public to avoid travelling to high mountain passes and snowfall-prone areas unless absolutely necessary and to ensure the use of snow chains where travel cannot be avoided.
