PTI's Barrister Sultan elected President of AJK
Muzaffarabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Barrister Sultan Mahmood was elected 28th President of Azad Kashmir on Monday.
According to details, Barrister Sultan obtained 34 votes while opposition’s candidate Mian Abdul Waheed secured 16 votes only.
Fifty one members of the AJK Legislative Assembly voted for the presidential elections. The e incumbent President Sardar Masood Khan will end on August 24.
Barrister Sultan Mahmood was elected as member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from LA-3, Mirpur-III on July 25, gaining his seventh victory in nine general elections since 1985. Apart from these nine general elections, two by-elections were also held in this constituency and both were won by him.
