Lahore: The Punjab government on Monday has decided to ban the entry of TikTokers and YouTubers from parks all over the province.

As per the recommendations, the right to shoot videos in parks will be reserved for Pakistani media only.
The latest directions follow several incidences of violence and assault against women in parks that were made public during holidays.
Social media influencers commonly make videos in public areas to entertain their followers.
One occurrence that rapidly gained coverage, was the Minar-e-Pakistan incident, where on independence day a female TikToker was harassed and assaulted by a group of 400 men, as she was filming a video for a the video sharing platform.
This brutal attack has enraged many across the country.
According to some sources, that permission to create content for social media will be granted only if the TikToker or YouTuber submit the script in advance. The security present at parks will be responsible to keep an eye on the content creators.
Sources claim that the Punjab government has also decided to prohibit people without families and students in uniforms to enter parks.
However, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has yet to authorize this ban.
On the other hand Punjab Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Director General Zaheer Anwar Jappa demanded increased security in public parks for families and women.
The PHA has raised security in three major parks: Allama Iqbal Park, Potohar Park and Rawal Road Park. He also ordered the repairment of security cameras and reserving spots for women in parks.
