Greenback reaches historic high of Rs168.94
Karachi: For the first time in the history of the country, the US dollar closed at the highest level of Rs168.94.
The dollar soared 84 paise against the Pak rupee at the end of interbank trading.
Interbank business started today at the level of Rs168.10.
During the last 4 months, the value of the dollar has increased by a total of Rs16.66. Earlier, the highest value of the dollar was recorded on August 26, 2020, at Rs168.43.
The increase in the value of the dollar increased the volume of foreign debt by Rs1,850 billion. It also became expensive in the open market. In the open market, the dollar rose by 80 paise to 169.20 from Rs168.40
