Upset over husband’s second marriage, lady doctor commits suicide 

Lahore: A lady doctor on Wednesday committed suicide by hanging herself to a ceiling fan at her residence in Raiwind near Lahore after her husband contracted second marriage.

The deceased identified as Dr Maria Saeed was a surgeon doctor at Lahore’s Children Hospital and had two children.

Reportedly, the husband Rashid who works in Sahiwal contracted a second marriage in July without her wife’s approval.

On the other hand, Maria’s brother lodged a case against his brother-in-law claiming that her sister has been murdered. The surgeon’s relatives also believe that she could not take her own life.

“She was killed by her husband and there were torture marks on her body,” said deceased’s brother.

The case, however, has been registered in Raiwind police station.

Maria’s dead body has been shifted to the hospital for autopsy while the police and forensic teams have collected evidence from the spot of incident.
