Govt recommends change in school timings due to smog


Lahore: The Government of Punjab recommended changes in school timings to control prevailing smog in major cities of Punjab.
According to details, a senior member of the Board of Revenue prepared the proposal, recommending 10 major suggestions including changes in school timings.
The proposals will also suggest an increase in winter school holidays. Suggestions to direct private schools to run buses are also included.
Suggestions have also been made to reduce traffic to control the smog situation. Senior Member Board of Revenue has prepared 10 suggestions.
The proposals will be presented to the Inter-Ministerial Committee for approval. The inter-ministerial committee will meet today to review the measures to control prevailing smog and will discuss the proposal.
On the other hand, the smog situation in Lahore has become alarming.
Lahore, the city of gardens, is again at the top of the list of the most polluted cities in the world in terms of air pollution. The city's air quality index has reached 304.
The air quality in Allama Iqbal Town was recorded 420 points in the air quality index, the most polluted area of Lahore. The area of Anar Kali Bazaar 413 and Township with 397 AQI.
