Grammy Awards 2022: Pakistani singer Arooj Aftab bags two nominations
Hailing from Lahore, Arooj took her music education from Berklee College of Music. Her track ‘Mohabbat’ helped her to bag two nominations for the Grammy awards 2022.


Lahore: Pakistani singer Arooj Aftab has made it to the 2022 Grammys nomination list—securing a place in the ‘Best New Artist and ‘Best Global Music Performance’ categories.
Arooj Aftab has secured a place amongst notable stars like Olivia Rodrigo, FINNEAS, The Kid LAROI, and Jimmie Allen.
Hailing from Lahore, Arooj took her music education from Berklee College of Music. Her track ‘Mohabbat’ helped her to bag two nominations for the Grammy awards 2022.
‘Mohabbat’, the song that former US President Barack Obama had listed as one of his summer playlist favorites for 2021.
Her voice is heavily inspired by classical music, such as Ghazal.
Last year, Aftab picked up her first Latin Grammy for her contribution to Residente’s Antes Que El Mundo Se Acabe.
The Grammys, the highest honors in the music industry, will be handed out at a ceremony in Los Angeles on January 31.
