Lahore: After Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had declared NA-75 Daska by-poll null and void, the incumbent Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has decided to challenge ECP verdict in court.

Talking in GNN programme ‘View Point’ senior journalist Imran Yaqub Khan has said that ECP had knocked out the PTI government in 2 ways; earlier by going against the government’s proposal of holding Senate polls by open ballot and now by declaring the Daska by-election null and void.

Further, he said that ECP has already announced the date of re-election in NA-75 constituency to be held on 18 March but PTI candidate Ali Asjad Malhi is hopeful to get relief from the court regarding the ECP’s decision of re-election.
Although both PTI and PML-N are claiming their success in the Daska votes and are defending their cases but one this is evident that after many years ECP has emerged as a unbiased organisation for which it should be praised, he added.
