Doctors recommend gastroenterology review of Bushra bibi

Islamabad: A medical team from the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) has recommended a gastroenterology review for Bushra Bibi, wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, after a visit to her home.

 The team, including cardiologist Dr. Sidra, advised dietary and lifestyle changes after a check-up at her Bani Gala residence, treated as a sub-jail.

The other reports suggested that the PIMS doctors declared her fit after she visited the hospital for check-up. The court had granted her permission to under the medical tests. 

Azma Bokhari, the Punjab Information Minsiter, had earlier said that the tests' results showed that Bushra Bibi was completely fit and the PTI was doing nothing but spreading specualtions regarding her health. She said that the PTI was doing just fake propaganda and the latest  medical reports exposed it.

Punjab CM Maryam orders to establish provincial enforcement authority

Enforcement authorities would have the powers to take action against price hike, encroachment of government lands and hoarding, besides performing other special tasks assigned by the Government from time to time, including seizures of state properties.

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed to establish Provincial Enforcement Authority in Punjab, while chairing a special meeting to review the implementation of various Government policies in the Province.

She said, “Enforcement authorities will also be established in every district and tehsil of Punjab.” She added, “Provincial Enforcement Authority will be headed by Chief Secretary, supported by a DG; District Enforcement Authority will be headed by Deputy Commissioner; while Tehsil Enforcement Authority will be headed by the respective AC”

Enforcement authorities would have the powers to take action against price hike, encroachment of government lands and hoarding, besides performing other special tasks assigned by the Government from time to time, including seizures of state properties.

The CM directed to make these enforcement authorities functional in 6 months, and to immediately start legislation for the purpose. She approved a proposal to amend 11 laws, rules and ordinances in this regard.

The CM said, “A police station and a special force will be established at tehsil level under the supervision of Tehsil Enforcement Authority. Authority in-charge, investigation officers, enforcement officers and constables will be appointed in a Tehsil Enforcement Authority, which will have the powers to register cases, investigate them and to make arrests in addition to the enforcement of law.

She said that Offices of Provincial and District Enforcement Authorities will also be established to ensure effective monitoring.

Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Senator Pervaiz Rasheed, Provincial Minister for Food Bilal Yasin, Minister for Information and Culture Azma Zahid Bukhari, Minister for Agriculture Muhammad Ashiq Hussain, MPA Sania Ashiq, Chief Secretary, Secretaries Agriculture, Finance and other relevant officers attended the meeting.

NA Speaker, Saudi Envoy express determination to further expand bilateral ties

Islamabad: Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki called on Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in Islamabad on Tuesday.

During the meeting, both the leaders showed satisfaction on Pak-Saudi relations and expressed determination to further expand the bilateral ties.

The Speaker National Assembly said Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Saudi Arabia. He said the people of Pakistan possess special bond for Saudi Arabia and the Custodian of Two Holy Mosques Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said both countries have common vies on key global and regional issues. He said parliamentary diplomacy is of the utmost importance to further strengthen bilateral relations. He said exchange of parliamentary delegations and coordination among the Parliamentary Friendship Groups will be helpful in bringing the two nations closer.

The Speaker also appreciated Saudi Arabia's cooperation for the economic development of Pakistan.

Welcoming Saudi Arabia's commitment for investment, he said Pakistan offers tremendous opportunities in this regard. He also thanked the Kingdom for extending facilities to Pakistani diaspora in Saudi Arabia.

He also extended invitation for Chairman Shura Council of Saudi Arabia Dr Abdullah Bin Mohammed Bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh to visit Pakistan.

The Saudi Ambassador thanked the Speaker for showing strong commitment with the Kingdom and extending good wishes for the Custodian of Two Holy Mosques as well as the desire to expand bilateral relations. He said Saudi Arabia too attaches immense importance to its brotherly relations with Pakistan.

Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki said the people of Saudi Arabia will continue playing their role for the sustainable development and prosperity of Pakistan.
